where line and colour meet
This is one of the pictures I did of the orange coffee pot. If you want to have a look at some of the other sketches then they are all on my flickr page.
where line and colour meet
This is the yellow bowl. Unfortunately I didn't get these pictures scanned when I was in college today, so I have had to resort to slightly dodgy photos. But hopefully you get the idea of the way I am trying different ways of recording the objects.
where line and colour meet
I have done several sketches, using different media to record the five key objects. This is the red bowl.

where line and colour meet
I have just negotiated my next project brief which is called "Where line and colour meet". One of my aims for this piece of work is to be more prolific with the images I produce during the investigation stage of the project. So hopefully I should have more work to post here.
In the meantime Jonny (my tutor) has suggested I look at Matisse and Paul Wearing. Matisse, doesn't really need any explanation, but Paul Wearing, I hadn't heard of. Paul Wearing (I have learnt) graduated from the Royal College of Art and is a highly successful award winning illustrator. There are a lot great images on his website, take a look!

collections - my little film
This film was for the first part of our current module, where we had to record our collection, investigate ways of classifying the items and present our findings. My planning was done in my notebook but my blog shows some of my research into other people's collections, and some of the photo shoot (additional images are available on flickr). Over three hundred images and a crash course in final cut pro later, this film was made.

collections - learning final cut pro
I have had a busy (but fun!) weekend going through all the photos from Thursday's session in the studio. There were over 300 photos to organise and edit.

linocutboy, material and throne together
I have been dying to write about this, and as the book came through at the weekend I now can. Last month I spent a very happy few hours at Material in Ludlow. It is a fantastic gallery and shop and a great resource for books, pressies and inspiration in general. Lucy who owns it is really lovely, and together with Nick Morely aka Linocutboy, hosted a fantastic royal wedding themed day. Nick had come up with a simple (but effective!) design for a Royal Wedding themed book (we got to choose the title!) which allows the reader to make some crazy couples by choosing different pages. Everyone there was asked to design either a Prince or Princess, the crazier the better, which we cut out of lino and printed. The images on Nick's blog make everything clear!
