We were SO lucky to have Karoline Rerrie come into college today. She is a fantastic illustrator, very self-effacing and fantastically generous with her knowledge and experience. She is also part of the collective Girls Who Draw who do projects, exhibitions and promotions together. When she explained how it all works it soon became clear that she is also VERY organised!

I absolutely love Christian Jackson's graphic approach to these posters. Aren't they a great contemporary take on traditional tales? I came across them here but there are more great images here.

I am just back from a wonderful trip to Barcelona. Four days of walking around finding new and exciting things. Lots of giggles, great food and wine. But we also had an amazing visit to the Estudio Mariscal. We got shown round everywhere, seeing where everyone works, the archives and even met the man himself. I loved it when he pointed out how lucky our tutor was to have so many beautiful female students!!!!

I went for a little jog today and en route helped my neighbour (a farmer) get a calf out of some prickly bushes. Later in the run I was contemplating the colours I had chosen for the patterns and was slightly disturbed to realise that for the pattern above, without knowing, I had chosen the grey of the sky, the pink of the calf's nose and the mustard colour of its poo! (It wasn't too impressed at being moved on from its hidey-hole).

I cut this lino a while ago. It can be hand printed in pretty much any colour as a print approx 12 x 15 cm or digitally printed as cards.
